Matt is the Director of Operations for MASS Design Group, an architecture firm based in Boston, MA and Kigali, Rwanda. MASS aims to improve people’s lives through design. MASS works in the US and internationally by focusing on leveraging architecture, as well as the design and construction processes, to become engines for better health, economic growth, and long-term sustainability. Since joining MASS in 2015, Matt has led new system design and implementation and other change efforts, enabling the organization to scale its mission while remaining true to its roots. He now builds new partnerships for MASS and oversees business operations. Prior to working at MASS, Matt was a project manager and organizational development consultant working in the U.S., Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ghana, Mexico and Timor-Leste. He holds a Masters in Development Practice from Columbia University where we was the recipient of the U.S. Department of Education’s Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship. Matt was also the recipient of a David L. Boren Fellowship, studying Kiswahili and entrepreneurial development in East Africa after graduating from Montana State University where he studied Business Management and Ethics.
